ABOUT AZERBAIJAN
Azerbaijan is a country located at the boundary of Western Asia and Eastern Europe. The capital and largest city of Azerbaijan is Baku.
The country is rich in natural gas and oil. In 1922, the country was incorporated into the Soviet Union as the Azerbaijan SSR. The modern Republic of Azerbaijan proclaimed its independence on 30 August 1991, shortly before the Dissolution of the Soviet Union in the same year. One of the most important parts of Azerbaijan’s economy is tourism.
